'Bridge the Gap Gala' aims to combat child hunger in Waukesha County

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Chapter of Blessings in a Backpack will host its fundraising gala, titled "Bridge the Gap," at the Milwaukee West Marriott.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, will feature musical entertainment, a silent auction, and dinner.
Regina Estrada, one of the organization's founders was joined by board president Diana Schmidt in joining us on Tuesday, Oct. 10 to preview the gala.
Blessings in a Backpack focuses its efforts on ensuring children do not go hungry over weekends by providing meal kits. For this year, honorees include Johnson and Sons Paving, the Oconomowoc Area Foundation and volunteer Rebecca Melgares.
