Bridge inspection work to have traffic impacts near Mitchell Interchange Saturday
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will perform a required inspection from South 27th St. to the I-41/I-43/I-894 system ramps. The inspection will check the underside structures of the bridge to see how it is holding up following its reconstruction over 2 years ago.
The work is set to begin at 7 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday October 17th and is expected to wrap by mid afternoon. The work will include some short term closures and lane restrictions. Short term closures will last no longer than an hour and a half.
The short term closures and lane restrictions will no doubt impact traffic in and around the Mitchell Interchange.
Plan on extra time if your travels take you around the area as well, changing traffic patterns will impact drive times as well; especially if you are headed to Mitchell International Airport.
