Brewers win ninth straight behind Lohse, Ramirez

MILWAUKEE - Everything is going right for the Brewers during their recent hot streak.

Sunday, Kyle Lohse struck out nine and came within an out of a complete game. Jean Segura and Logan Schafer made terrific defensive plays behind their starter. And two runs scored on a strikeout after the Pirates catcher threw the ball down the right field line trying to retire Scooter Gennett at first.

It all added up to a ninth straight win Sunday, 4-1 over the Pirates, netting the Brew Crew their third straight series sweep.

Aramis Ramirez added an RBI single for the Brewers, who at 10-2 have the best record in the major leagues.

The Brewers welcome the Cardinals to town Monday. With one more win, the Brewers can tie their longest win streak (10) since 2003.

The 1987 Brewers started the season 13-0.
