Brewers trade Mark Canha for right-handed Tigers' pitcher Blake Holub

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- According to a press release from the Milwaukee Brewers, outfielder/first baseman Mark Canha has been traded to the Detroit Tigers for the Tigers' right-handed pitcher Blake Holub.

The release goes on to say Holub 25, went 6-4 with a 3.03 ERA and 8 saves in 48 relief appearances last season between Class-A West Michigan (18 games) and Double-A Erie (30 games), holding opponents to a .226 batting average with 76 strikeouts in 65.1 innings pitched while posting a 1.07 WHIP.

Canha, 34 had a club option for 2024. He appeared in 50 games with Milwaukee in 2023 after being acquired with cash from the New York Mets on July 31 in exchange for right-handed pitcher Justin Jarvis. Canha batted .287 (51 for 178) with 5 HR and 33 RBI as a Brewer and made 47 starts with the team.
