Brewers to Extend Nets from Dugout to Dugout

Brewers are expanding protective netting from dugout to dugout at Miller Park, according to a representative from the Brewers.

At the winter meetings on Wednesday, Major League Baseball made a safety recommendation.

It suggested, but does not require that teams extend the nets behind home plate.

The nets protect fans from foul balls and flying bats.  There were several incidents during the past baseball season, including a serious one at Miller Park, in which fans were seriously hurt raising questions about safety at ballparks.
