Brewers start second half with 4-1 win over Pirates

Mike Fiers pitched three-hit ball over seven innings, and Gerardo Parra has two hits and an RBI as the Brewers began the second half with a 4-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday night at Miller Park.

Fiers gave up just a solo home run to Jung Ho Kang, cutting the Brewers lead to 2-1 in the seventh inning. But Milwaukee responded with two insurance runs in the bottom of the frame.

Francisco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 20th save on a night honoring former Brewers catcher Bill Schroeder, who was inducted into the Brewers' Wall of Honor before the game.
