MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Brewers and Sargento are teaming up to beat hunger in our community.
Christian Yelich appeared at the Legends Club in Miller Park to talk about the Double Helping for Hunger program.
Sargento gives the food bank $200 every time the Brewers hit a double. With the way the team is hitting this season, they're hoping to score big.
Yelich says the partnership is about shared values.
"I really think we'll be able to do a lot of great things not only around the city but the state and we're just excited to help people out and it's a great cause and hopefully myself and my teammates down there on the field try and raise as much money as we can," Yelich said.
The team has averaged about 150 doubles a season.
