MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers participated in their annual 'Kindness in MKE' initiative on Friday, May 31.
It's aimed at giving back to the community by surprising individuals and non-profits across southeast Wisconsin.
Brewers' stars Christian Yelich and Brice Turang joined customers at a local Pic N' Save where they bagged groceries and picked up the bill for many surprised shoppers.
"Getting to interact with people in the City of Milwaukee, and maybe get some fans who don't really know about baseball to come watch us, so it's cool," said Yelich.
The Brewers Community Foundation donated more than $50,000 today as a part of their giving effort, and this marks the eighth consecutive year of the initiative.
