PHOENIX, Ariz. (CBS 58) -- The Brewers have had success more often than not in the last five seasons.
They made the playoffs every year from 2018 to 2021, but their approach to winning games has changed quite a bit over that time.
During crucial games in 2018, the Brewers used their starting pitchers for just a few innings at a time. In one case, a starting pitcher came out after facing one hitter.
But in 2023, the team's starting rotation is one of the best in the game, with 2021 Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff leading the pack.
Major League Baseball has made a few tweaks to the national pastime for the 2023 season.
Larger bases and a ban on radical defensive shifts have brought some interesting wrinkles to the game. But a pitch clock designed to speed up the game is the most intriguing - and polarizing - change in baseball for 2023.
Some pitchers and hitters say it won't change their approach; others are not fans of the change.
