MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- While the Brewers haven't secured their spot in the World Series yet, some fans already bought tickets for the potential matchup at American Family Field.

"I struggled. I was like okay, is this worth it or is it not?" said Laura Rowe, a Brewers season ticketholder.

Rowe has been a fan of the Crew since the 80's and a season ticketholder for decades.

So, as the Brewers continue their historic run to secure a spot in the World Series, she says she doesn't want to miss a moment.

"For the postseason strip, I felt it was what I expected because I've purchased them before."

Rowe says she bought four full post-season strips, costing around $3,000 each. That included four tickets for around $400 each to what could be the World Series games at American Family Field.

Tuesday, when she tried to buy additional tickets in the pre-sale, she says the prices doubled.

"I was going to get four additional tickets until I saw the price, and then no," said Rowe. "I just got two. I'm already spending my whole vacation budget on getting the whole postseason strip, but I didn’t think I could handle another four grand."

She says a 400-level seat cost her upward of $900 and that’s not including fees.

"What really surprised me was there was a ticket fee added on for each ticket, $187.50, and that was hard to stomach too."

Eager fans say it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but their pockets can only take them so far.

"I would say maybe $400, $500," said Alfredo Lopez. "I don’t know if that can get me in, but I will try."

With hefty ticket prices, state consumer protection officials warn buyers to be wary of second-hand resale tickets and scams, reminding people to protect their payments.

CBS 58 reached out to the Brewers for more info on ticket prices and what people can expect for general sales, but we've not yet heard back.
