MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It was a win for a special Milwaukee Brewer’s fan from Burlington.
The team invited Lenny Zwieg to throw out today's ceremonial first pitch. “It was an amazing feeling, unforgettable," he said.
That's after he wore a shirt to a game last season, asking for a new kidney.
Another fan took a photo, posted it to social media, hoping to help him find a match.
But Zweig’s days haven’t always been this glorious. Ten years ago, life threw him a curve-ball after getting Dengue Fever during a business trip to Africa, resulting in kidney failure.
It was tough on the father of three. “I missed countless baseball games, band concerts, things like that.”
After the viral post -- Zwieg matched with Emily Nowak, a teacher from Wausau.
Her kidney was too small for him, so it went to someone else. "My kidney went out to Pittsburgh and a pair over there went to Lenny," she said.
It now been five months since Zwieg’s successful kidney transplant.
“I feel like a kid again. I have unlimited energy."
