MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and CBS 58 Morning News is teaming up with Komen Wisconsin to share some tasty and healthy recipes as well as some food for thought about the deadly disease.
Tuesday, Executive Director Nikki Panico from Komen Wisconsin joined morning anchor Pauleen Le to share a recipe for roasted sweet potatoes full of vitamin a and to talk about knowing the risks of breast cancer.
Komen Wisconsin's More than Pink walk is going virtual this year. The annual event is coming up on Oct. 24 and there's still time to register. Click here for more information.
Ingredients:
Cooking spray
1 tsp paprika
1 Tbsp brown sugar
4 large sweet potatoes, scrubbed, cut lengthwise into ¾ inch wedges
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp cinnamon
Dash of cayenne pepper (optional)
Cooking Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°.
Lightly spray cooking spray on a baking dish or cast-iron skillet. Spray potato wedges with cooking spray and toss together with all the spices in a bowl.
