Braun's homer, Peralta's strong outing lift Brewers past Reds

Milwaukee -

Ryan Braun homered and tripled, and Wily Peralta threw seven shutout innings as the Brewers beat the Reds 4-1 Sunday at Miller Park.

Braun's homer came in the first inning off Reds starter John Lamb. Jonathan Lucroy ran his hitting streak to eight games with an RBI single in the third, providing all the runs that Peralta and three Brewers relievers would need.

Francisco Rodriguez shut the door with a 1-2-3 ninth inning to nail down the save, just one day after Saturday's four-run outing against the Reds that resulted in K-Rod's first blown save of 2015.

The Brewers have Monday off before welcoming the Pirates to town for three games starting Tuesday.
