Boy riding bicycle struck by car near 43rd Street and Good Hope Road

A boy riding his bicycle was struck by a car near 43rd Street and Good Hope Road.

The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating this serious motor vehicle crash that happened around 7:30 a.m. on June 12.

A 43-year-old woman was driving her vehicle westbound on W. Good Hope Road when she struck a 12-year-old boy on his bike.

The bicyclist was in the crosswalk riding against a red light; the driver of the vehicle had a green light. The 12-year-old was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Milwaukee Police continue to investigate.

The driver stayed at the scene.

No word on what caused the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
