Bottom Line: Suburbs follow Milwaukee's lead on sex offender ordinace

MILWAUKEE -- After our CBS 58 Investigation prompted city leaders to pass a sex offender residency restriction, smaller communities are quickly looking into introducing on of their own. On Monday Whitefish Bay's 1,750 foot restriction went into effect, restricting predators from where children gather.

River Hills is now discussing an ordinance for mid September. They hope to vote at that meeting but it could be pushed off another month.

Robert Brunner, River Hills Village Manger says, \"Less than a handful of communities haven't passed a residency restriction and they're falling in line very rapidly.\"

Shorewood is also looking into a restriction but are earlier in the process. They've hired an attorney to look at the issue.

Hales Corner also doesn't have a restriction we contacted them but are still waiting for a call back.
