Body of elderly man pulled from pond in Washington County

 The body of an 87-year-old man was pulled from a pond in the Town of Addison of Saturday evening.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said that the man's wife called 911. She couldn't find her husband. She told the operator that his tractor and trailer were next to a pond near the property and she was worried that he had fallen in.

The first deputy on the scene saw something protruding from the water near the middle of the pond and also noticed marks in the mud on the side of the pond that were consistent with someone slipping.

The Washington County Dive Team responded and were able to recover the man's body.

The name of the man is not being released at this time.
