MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There's a special movement to offer support to women all across the Milwaukee area. It's called Love Purse.

With the help of a few BMO Bank locations, organizers collected purses and toiletry items Tuesday, to donate to local groups supporting women facing issues like domestic violence, human trafficking, or homelessness.

They'll be shipped to several advocacy groups who represent direct lifelines to those who need help.

"We will specifically be giving back to Meta House, Sojourner Family Peace Center, and We of More, which are all organizations that support women that are going through different situations," Denisse Pachuca, senior regional strategist at BMO, said.

This is the second time the event has come to Milwaukee. Last time, they collected more than 150 purses and nearly $3,000 worth of toiletries.

BMO will collect cash and toiletry donations for Love Purse through the month of April at BMO Tower, located at 790 N. Water Street in Milwaukee.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, Sojourner has a 24-hour text or call hotline which can connect you with resources. Call 414-933-2722 or text 414-877-8100.
