Big Boy is coming back to Wisconsin after 26 years

GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's been 26 years since you could buy a Big Boy sandwich in Wisconsin, but the iconic franchise restaurant is coming back.

A new Big Boy will open in Germantown at what once was "Jerry's Old Town Restaurant" -- located at N116 W15841 Main Street.

The Marcus Corporation once operated dozens of Wisconsin Big Boys and a lot of people around here grew up on Big Boy and "Brawny Lad" sandwiches.

A different group will run the new one and we're told the Germantown Big Boy will include retail space and a museum of Big Boy collectibles.

There are plans to open multiple locations throughout Southeastern Wisconsin over the next three years. Wisconsin Big Boy will also own and operate two Big Boy food trucks that will make appearances at local festivals and be available for private parties and events.

Big Boy in Germantown will open to the public on July 14.
