Bicyclist Struck by Car in Grafton; Taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert
A bicyclist was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital after being hit by a car in Grafton.
According to Grafton Police Department, the incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 12:50 pm.
Grafton Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a personal injury accident in the 600 block of County Hwy O, in the Village of Grafton, for a car vs bicycle accident.
Upon arrival to the scene officers discover that a vehicle had been southbound on County Highway O and struck a bicyclist that was Westbound on the Inter-Urban Bike Trail as the bicyclist crossed over Hwy O.
Initial investigation and witness statements indicate that the bicyclist failed to stop at County Hwy O. There are stop signs on the bike trail at this location.
The Grafton Fire Rescue Squad conveyed the subject to Aurora Grafton Hospital where he was taken to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee via Flight for Life Helicopter.
The victim, a male in his 30s, sustained head and shoulder injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident which remains under investigation at this time.
