Bicyclist injured after almost colliding with vehicle

WEST BEND-- A bicyclist was injured after just avoiding a crash with a vehicle.


The incident happened near the intersection of Main Street and Rivershores Drive shortly after 8:00 p.m. Friday.


Police said that a vehicle was traveling southbound on N. Main Street and was turning east onto Rivershores Drive when a bicyclist on the sidewalk suddenly entered the crosswalk.


The motorist abruptly stopped his vehicle and avoided colliding with the bicyclist.


The bicyclist attempted to stop quickly and was ejected onto the pavement.


The 44-year-old male bicyclist received minor injuries.


He was cited for pedestrian(bicyclist) failing to yield.
