MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Lisa Schiller, senior director of investigations and media relations with the Better Business Bureau, joined us on Monday, Jan. 5 to chat about how to make holiday returns easier.
Schiller said researching retailers beforehand on BBB.org can help avoid issues. She recommends understanding store policies, including whether they charge restocking fees and offer cash refunds, exchanges or store credit.
Other tips include keeping receipts and original packaging, making returns quickly and bringing identification to avoid holiday return scams. Schiller also recommends using credit cards for extra protection.
