MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Palomino Bar in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood is temporarily closing its doors on regular service.

A notice on the bar and restaurant's website attributes the closure to the "severe staffing shortage" within the industry caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Palomino says they're "taking a pause" and re-focusing their teams to other cafes. They continue to operate Honeypie Bakeshop at Palomino as well as PIE Inc. administrative services. "We are still here, just not making burgers and pouring whiskey for the moment," the website says.

The restaurant will still be hosting private events, special dinner parties and whiskey socials.

"We hope to reopen Palomino next year for our normal food and bar service," Palomino says. "For now -- please visit us at our sister cafes Honeypie, Smallpie and Comet."

To inquire about a private event at Palomino, you can email them at [email protected].
