Badgers rebound from sluggish first half to beat South Florida

MADISON - The 3-3 halftime score was a bit of a shocker to both Badgers fans and the team. Gary Andersen's players weren't about to have a second half letdown like they did in the season opener, though.

Melvin Gordon rushed for two touchdowns and Tanner McEvoy found Sam Arneson from a yard out in the fourth quarter to seal a 27-10 win for the Badgers (3-1).

Gordon rushed 32 times for 181 yards and the two scores, just one week after running for 253 yards and 5 scores against Bowling Green.

Andersen says his players were pressing a bit in the first half, but looked looser after halftime on their way to 454 total yards of offense against the Bulls.

Wisconsin starts its conference schedule next Saturday against Northwestern.
