Badgers left off preseason coaches' poll

Wisconsin is not in the preseason coaches' poll's top 25 starting the year at 27th. The Badgers received 82 votes falling well short of the 245 needed to crack the top 25.
Wisconsin's schedule is stacked with elite competition. They'll play five teams inside the top 15.
Alabama is No. 1 with Clemson at No. 2 and Oklahoma, Florida State and Ohio State rounding out the top five. The Crimson Tide is the defending national champion after beating Clemson in the College Football Playoff title game.
The Associated Press preseason Top 25 will be released Aug. 21.
