MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's time to start thinking about heading back to school, and a Milwaukee campaign aims to give kids a healthy start to the new semester.
The Milwaukee Health Department's 18th annual back-to-school health fairs offer free vaccinations, dental screenings, and lead testing.
Along with health services, kids can get a free haircut, and students with up-to-date shots also receive free backpacks and school supplies.
"This is here for our residents to take advantage of so that they can make sure that their kids are safe and ready for school," Mayor Tom Barrett said.
Friday's health fair runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Washington High School. Another will be held a week later on August 9 at Journey House on 21st and Scott Street.
