MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Aurora Health Care thanked some heroic workers and frontline caregivers with MVP Day at Sunday’s Brewers game at American Family Field.
A group of 50 Aurora team members took over an entire section of the stadium wearing special edition Brewers “This Is Our Essential Crew” t-shirts and were treated to an unforgettable day at the ballpark. The “Health Care MVPs” were invited by Aurora Health Care as a thank you for getting vaccinated and for their tireless work to keep their communities safe and healthy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
A few designated Aurora attendees even took part in some notable gameday festivities, including three ceremonial first pitches, a call out on the big screen during the game, in-game contests and waving the Brewers flag outside Bernie Brewer’s chalet.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for doing the work I love and helping both my team and our patients get through this pandemic. Being able to go to a Brewers game with my friends and colleagues makes life feel normal again,” said Jodie Gord, COVID ICU nurse at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
In addition, 8,000 health care kits were given out free to fans. Aurora Health Care, in partnership with 3M, supplied the kits, which included hand sanitizer and KN95 masks to promote a safe and clean environment.
