Man shot while attempting to fight off robber near 38th and North

Milwaukee (CBS 58) -- A 28-year-old man is recovering after being shot during a robbery attempt.
According to police, the man was meeting with friends in the area of 38th and North when a suspect attempted to rob him. The victim tried to fight off the suspect at which time he was shot.
It happened around 9:40 p.m.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what is believed to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Milwaukee Police continue to search for a suspect.
