Artists wanted! Milwaukee Pets Alive seeks animal-inspired art for 'Pawcasso Gallery Night' fundraiser

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Calling all artists!

On July 16, local animal rescue organization Milwaukee Pets Alive (MPA) is holding a "first-of-its-kind" fundraising event called "Pawcasso Gallery Night."

The event will coincide with Gallery Night MKE and take place at the Black Swan Riverwalk in the Third Ward.

The nonprofit is currently looking for "big-hearted artists" to create and donate an original piece of artwork to be sold at the event.

MPA is looking for donated art pieces that are "of, or relating to, companion animals (cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, fish, chinchillas, turtles, gerbils, hamsters, etc.)."

The art can be of any size and any medium, MPA only asks that pieces be original works of art and that all donated pieces be ready to display and sell on the night of the event.

All funds raised will go toward specialist and primary vet visits, medications, food and supplies for the special needs animals in MPA's care.

The deadline for submission is July 10.
