Anonymous donor, local organization team up to help Milwaukee Police replace stolen hoop

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An anonymous donor and 'Safe & Sound Inc.' teamed up to help Milwaukee Police replace a stolen basketball hoop near 35th and Custer.

Last summer, two officers came upon a large group of kids and young men playing basketball. They joined in.

During a neighborhood clean up this past spring, one of the kids told police that the basketball hoop had been stolen. 

Safe & Sound, an organization that works to reduce crime, along with an anonymous donor purchased a new basketball hoop and a heavy gauge lock for Custer Avenue. 

Milwaukee Police helped to deliver and set up the hoop, even joining those who gathered for a game.
