American Family Field brewing up holiday fun

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- American Family Field is transforming into a hub of holiday activity. Despite being in the midst of the Brewers' offseason, the venue is looking to draw crowds with unique events like the Tinsel Taproom holiday pop-up and a series of special visits from Santa Claus and live reindeer.

The Tinsel Taproom at J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard is offering a holiday-themed environment complete with tinsel, lights and seasonal drinks. Open through Jan. 6, reservations are available for groups seeking a festive gathering spot.

Santa Claus and "Brewdolf" the reindeer will grace the field on Sunday, Dec. 10 from 3 to 5 p.m., providing photo opportunities and holiday-themed activities. Santa will also host a series of appearances in the Tinsel Taproom, starting Wednesday, Dec. 6 through Wednesday, Dec. 20, where families can enjoy crafting, cookie decorating and meet-and-greets.

Supper with Santa will take place on Saturday, Dec. 16 and the North Pole Mailbox, available from Tuesday, Nov. 28 through Friday, Dec. 22 will allow wish lists to be sent jolly old Saint Nick.

Visitors are encouraged to contribute to the Toys for Tots drive in partnership with the Marines, running through Dec. 22, which will provide toys to be distributed throughout Milwaukee County.
