All Peoples Church Devoted to Mother Earth

For more than a hundred years, All Peoples Church on Milwaukee's north side has made it a mission to create a sacred space.

There's a community garden, a greenhouse to grow food, and a rain garden to collect rain water, in fact typically 4000 gallons with every rain storm. This water is recycled and reused.

Through all the hard work, now some recognition from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, or MMSD.  This Lutheran church has now received the Green Luminary Award. MMSD already helped the congregation with close to $10 thousand of grant money to make all this possible.

The church says it's looking ahead to possible future plans with the city, including a water management project on 2nd Street on the city's north side.
