Agriculture, animals take center stage at the Wisconsin State Fair for 1st annual 'Ag Discovery Day'
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Cream puffs will make way for students, animals and lots of learning stations today on the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds for the first annual "Ag Discovery Day."
Organizers say it's a unique way to teach kids about agriculture. The topics covered will include animal care, social science and Wisconsin commodities like maple syrup.
By the end of the day, the hope is these young adults will learn what help makes the Badger state thrive.
In all, 700 students, between 3rd and 5th grade, are taking part in this event. Organizers say if your school is interested in being a part of next year's "Ag Discovery Day," make sure to follow the State Fair's social media outlets on future announcements, especially starting next January.
