Afternoon Accident

An accident Tuesday afternoon in West Bend was caused by a 32-year-old man who was under the influence, according to West Bend Police Department.

A West Bend Police Officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on W. Decorah Rd. approaching S. Main Street at 2:27 PM.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for a red traffic light, and collided with a vehicle traveling southbound on S. Main St.

During the crash investigation it was determined that the driver of the offending vehicle, a 32 year old male resident of Cedarburg, was impaired and he failed the Standard Field Sobriety Tests.

Further examination revealed that he was under the influence of prescription drugs. The 32 year old male was arrested for 1st Offense Operating Auto While Under the Influence.
