After Hours Swim Outing Ends Tragically

A 19-year-old man apparently drowned in an after hours incident Wednesday night the Washington Park Pool.  The Milwaukee Police Department reports that around 10:40 PM, the man and several friends climbed over a fence to gain access to the closed swimming pool at N 40th Street and W Lisbon Avenue.  According to the report, the man jumped into the pool and began having trouble swimming, sinking to the bottom of the pool.  When a Milwaukee Police Officers arrived on scene, he jumped into the pool and brought the victim to the surface.  When out of the water, the officer and several others began CPR.  They were joined by Milwaukee Fire Department personnel who continued with CPR.  Despite the life saving efforts of the Officers and Firefighters, the victim died on the scene.
