FORT MCCOY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Afghan refugees at Fort McCoy in western Wisconsin are getting vaccinated against COVID-19 for free if they choose.
The Defense Department shared photos online of refugees receiving shots of the vaccine.
All Afghans and U.S. citizens coming from Afghanistan are tested for COVID-19 when they first arrive to the United States.
Fort McCoy is providing temporarily housing for vulnerable afghans who fled Afghanistan after the recent collapse of the government to the Taliban.
