Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Nyla
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- As pets are living longer due to improving care from owners, they require specialized attention in their golden years.
Dr. Lori Teller, President of the American Veterinary Medical Association, joined us on Wednesday, May 10 to discuss her advice for specialized senior pet care, emphasizing the importance of consulting with a veterinarian to address any underlying health issues.
Dr. Teller also shared disaster preparedness tips for pet owners, suggesting a go-bag with at least a week's supply of food, water, medical records and necessary medications.
Socializing pets to help reduce anxiety was also discussed, with Dr. Teller recommending exposure to new experiences and rewarding positive interactions.
