Accused drug ring leader enters "not guilty" pleas in court

A man accused of leading a major drug trafficking ring linked to Milwaukee's \"East Side Mafiosa\" appeared in court Thursday afternoon.

Charles Ortiz, Jr. waived his right to a preliminary hearing.  He was arrested on November 5.

Ortiz faces several felony counts for possession of cocaine and heroin.  Ortiz's attorney entered not guilty pleas for all charges.

During Ortiz's appearance, the judge said Ortiz tested positive for marijuana.

The judge warned Ortiz, \"No more positive tests, or you may find the court-- it won't be me, it will be the judge assigned to this case-- taking a different position with respect to any positive tests.\"

Ortiz's next court appearance is scheduled for December 11 at 1:30 PM.
