'A good little weather forecaster': Milwaukee County Zoo announces death of Gordy the groundhog

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- "With heavy hearts," the Milwaukee County Zoo announced the passing Thursday of Gordy the groundhog.
The zoo says Gordy was humanely euthanized Friday, March 3 due to "quality of life concerns," after a medical exam found fluid in his chest.
Last month, Gordy predicted six more weeks of winter during the zoo's 35th Groundhog Day ceremony.
"Gordy was a good little weather forecaster and educational ambassador," the zoo wrote in a tweet Thursday. "His care team will miss his 'goofy and friendly personality.'"
