Milwaukee County investigates record number of homicides in 2021

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- To date, Milwaukee County recorded its highest homicide rate in 2021. 

According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office, they've investigated 220 homicides so far this year, an all time high. 

To date, MCMEO has investigated 220 homicides in Milwaukee County - the highest on record.

In 2020 the city of Milwaukee set a record number of homicides with 190, according to police. 

This is the second year in a row that the city has broken the record of deadly violence.
