$90,000 Worth of Merchandise Stolen from Radio Shack

Monroe Police are looking for suspects that stole $90,000 in value of cell phones and equipment are reported to have been taken from the Radio Shack. 

A large amount of this may be recovered.  According to police, the witness who called police is credited with being a large factor in this.

The incident remains under investigation at this time, and the search for the suspects still at large continues. 

On Tuesday at about 2:49 AM, Monroe Police were notified by a witness, that the Monroe Radio Shack, located at 301 6th Avenue West, on Monroe’s far west side, was being burglarized.

The witness had observed five persons, all dressed in black with concealed faces, running out of the closed Radio Shack business carrying items, and saw them enter two vehicles. 

The witness followed the vehicles, calling 911 on a cell phone, east on STH 11. 

After about two miles, law enforcement vehicles from Monroe Police and Green County Sheriff’s Office caught up to the vehicles and began a pursuit.  The vehicles were a Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV and a Kia Optima sedan.

The pursuit continued at high speeds east on STH 11, and near STH 11 and CTH OK, the Green County Sheriff’s Office deployed tire deflation devices to stop the vehicles. 

The first vehicle ran over the devices and tires were deflated. 

This vehicle continued on flat tires for about a mile and finally stopped near STH 11 and CTH G.  At this location, the driver of the fleeing vehicle, later identified as Alexis Marylinn Beyer (18), Aurora, IL, was captured. 

Three suspects fled from the vehicle south into farm fields, and remain at large.

Second vehicle continued to flee east on STH 11 through the City of Brodhead, pursued by Green County deputies and Brodhead Police, and into Rock County. 

At one point, the occupants of this vehicle were observed throwing out a bag, which was recovered and contained cell phones taken from the Radio Shack in Monroe.

Attempts to stop the vehicle with tire deflation devices were made, and finally in the City of Janesville, law enforcement was successful in deflating the vehicle tires and the vehicle was stopped by Rock and Green County deputies, Janesville Police and Brodhead Police. 

The driver, identified as Diamond Rikki Madison (21), Aurora, IL, along with passengers, identified as Michael Lavell Bush Jr. (25), Aurora, IL, Tynario Rashard Brown (21), Aurora, IL, and Kneirah V. Johnson (18), Montgomery, IL, were all captured.

All suspects were transported to, and currently remain in the Green County Jail in Monroe
