9-year-old girl killed after shots fired through home near Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — The victim was identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office Thursday as 9-year-old Jade Riser.
According to the medical examiner's report, the child was in her bedroom when a person of interest fired shots through the home, striking her. They say several casings were recovered from outside the house.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The 9-year-old involved in a shooting on Thursday, July 2 has succumbed to their injuries.
Milwaukee police issued the update Wednesday morning, July 8.
Officials say no arrests have been made and still ask anyone with information to contact MPD or Crime Stoppers with information.
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 9-year-old child is in critical condition following a shooting near Burleigh and Richards streets late Thursday, July 2.
Police were called to the scene just after 11:15 p.m.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
No arrests have been made.
