87-year-old man sole victim of deadly Dodge County crash
CHESTER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An 87-year-old man died Sunday, March 20 after failing to negotiate a curve and crashing his vehicle.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. near County HWY C and County HWY I in the township of Chester.
According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Officer (DCSO), the initial investigation showed that the man was driving a 2008 Mercury, and he was traveling east on County HWY C approaching a curve in the roadway. The driver failed to negotiate the curve and traveled off of the roadway, striking several trees in the south ditch area.
The 87-year-old male driver was the sole occupant the car, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
Multiple agencies assisted the DCSO at the scene, including the Waupun Fire Department, LifeStar Paramedics, Dodge County Emergency Response Team, MedFlight, Dodge County Medical Examiner, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
