78-Year-Old Bears Fan Calls out Jay Cutler in Her Obituary

(CBS Chicago) Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has a long history of being criticized during his career in Chicago.

After a quality 2015 season from Cutler, that criticism is largely misplaced, but he still can’t escape it from some — including the dead.

A suburban woman whose obituary recently ran in the Chicago Tribune read like this:

“Elizabeth Porter Bowman, 78, of Northbrook, Illinois died peacefully January 9, 2016, surrounded by her children. Betsy was an elementary school teacher and later a tutor, but her passion and focus was being a dedicated and involved mother and grandmother. She was a woman of loyalty, integrity, opinion, curiosity and intelligence. A lifelong fan of the Cubs, Blackhawks and Bears (except Jay Cutler).”

Cutler registered a career-high 92.3 passer rating in 2015, with 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. It might be time to spread the word that he should be praised rather than criticized.
