77-year-old man found dead inside New Berlin home, person of interest arrested
NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police are investigating after a 77-year-old man was found deceased inside a residence in New Berlin.
Officials say Monday, Feb. 12 around 7 p.m., officers responded to a home on Glen Park Ct., just south of National Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers observed the home was not secured and located the deceased man inside. A person of interest was taken into custody.
Authorities say the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.
In a news release Tuesday evening, the sheriff's office says they received a report of a suspicious female who was partially clothed running through the backyards on Prairie View Road in the city of Cedarburg.
The woman, identified as a 43-year-old from the city of Glendale, was eventually found hiding in a garage on Douglas Lane.
She was taken to an area hospital for medical evaluation. The sheriff's office says while at the hospital, the woman provided information regarding an incident in the city of New Berlin, prompting the welfare check.
