MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- They say it's never too early to start thinking about college. That's a motto that several Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) seniors lived by during their time in high school.
Around 75 seniors were recognized yesterday, June 4, for completing the 'M3 College Connections Program.'
The dual enrollment program with MPS, the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and Milwaukee Area Technical College allows high school students to complete their GED requirements while also completing up to 21 college credits before even stepping foot on campus.
"I'm really proud. I worked really hard to make sure I got good grades in all my classes," said Senior Faith Alford. "I put a lot of effort into what I did and if I had questions, I had professors and Matthew to help me with all that and also I had friends that helped me."
This year's class completed over 1,700 college credits and save over $500,000 in combined tuition fees.
