GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Greenfield Police Department says a 61-year-old man has been found dead inside a home after a report of a chemical-type smell coming from a residence.
Greenfield Police and Fire officials responded to the incident near 46th and Armour Ave. on Sun. Dec. 28, shortly before 1:30 p.m.
Emergency personnel made entry into the home, where they found the lone 61-year-old man dead inside a bedroom.
Officials say a fire inside the home was contained to the bedroom where they located the victim, and it extinguished itself.
Crews did not locate anyone else within the residence.
The Milwaukee Fire Department Hazmat also responded to the scene, and a joint police and fire investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
Officials say there is no ongoing safety concern for area residents.
