50th anniversary celebration of Mexican Fiesta to take place in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation will commemorate the 50th edition of Mexican Fiesta with a three-day cultural event at the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee.

The celebration aims to showcase the richness of Mexican heritage while supporting scholarship awards for Hispanic students pursuing higher education.

The event will run from Friday, Aug. 25 to Sunday, Aug. 27, featuring entertainment from national and international acts, cultural exhibitions, traditional folkloric dances, Mariachi bands and food representing favorites from Mexico. Attendees can also explore an artisan market, engage in family-friendly activities, and enjoy a fireworks extravaganza on Friday at 9:30 p.m.

CBS 58's sister station Telemundo Wisconsin is a presenting sponsor of the Mexican Fiesta.

The scheduled entertainment lineup includes acts such as Edwin Luna y La Trakalosa de Monterrey, Alex Fernández Jr., Aida Cuevas, Rey Ruiz, Lo Mejor del Rock en Español, Gerardo Coronel, Alta Consigna, Marcos Orozco, Ezequiel Peña, Grupo Palomo, Las Cafeteras, Los Solitarios and Tenampa Brass among others.

Discounted tickets are available at $19 per person 9 years and older when purchased in advance at the Mexican Fiesta office and El Rey Grocery Stores, with prices at the gate being $24. Children 8 years old and under can enjoy free admission with an adult.
