5 teens arrested in Elm Grove attempted burglary

ELM GROVE, Wis. (CBS 58) – Five teenagers are in custody after attempting to burglarize an Elm Grove home.

According to police, on Saturday around 11:55 p.m., a homeowner near Cloverhill Rd. and Wrayburn Rd. heard pounding at the front and back of her house.

The homeowner says she went to the front door and saw that it had been kicked in. A person was standing near the door pointing a gun into the home.

Authorities say after being confronted, the suspects left the area in a car. Police were able to locate the vehicle, which eventually crashed in the Village of Menomonee Falls. The car turned out to be stolen in an early burglary in a different jurisdiction.

The five suspects are between the ages of 15 and 19-years-old.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
