47-year-old Greenfield man arrested for OWI with child in vehicle
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a 47-year-old man was arrested for 1st OWI offense, with a child under the age of 16 in the vehicle.
It happened on Saturday, Feb. 24 around 3:42 p.m.
A trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol Southeast Region stopped a car for excessive speed on the interstate near the City of Lake Mills in Jefferson County. The car was going 100 MPH in the 70 MPH zone before the stop. It was found that the vehicle occupied a passanger under the age of 16.
Authorities say the driver displayed indicators of impairment and was arrested after given standardized field sobriety tests. Blood was drawn at a hospital after which the driver was booked at the Jefferson County jail to be released when sober, or to a responsible party.
