WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- West Bend police say the child struck by a car in the Froedtert West Bend Health Center parking lot remains hospitalized as of Monday evening. 

The 28-year-old driver is in custody at the Washington County Jail, with a request for charges including causing injury while operating with a restricted controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of prescription medication without a prescription.

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An investigation is underway after a 4-year-old was hit by a car in the parking lot of a West Bend health clinic Monday morning, Jan. 5. 

Officers responded to the parking lot of Froedtert's West Bend Health Center on Paradise Drive around 11:10 a.m. 

Police say the child was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The 28-year-old driver- a Hartford woman- remained at the scene.
